Application background

According to statistics, the failure of power supply mainly appears in the following aspects:

The temperature and temperature of the three phase circuit of the high voltage switchgear in power plants and substations are abnormal.

The abnormal temperature of high voltage cables, cable ends and intermediate heads of power plants and substations.

The shaft temperature and temperature anomalies of large generators such as generating units and steam turbines in power plants.

The traditional temperature monitoring methods are mainly used by thermocouples, thermal resistance, semiconductor and other temperature sensing elements. These methods either have metal or need metal wires to transmit signals. In the compact switchgear, it is very difficult to realize the reliable edge of the system. But for non-contact infrared temperature measurement, it is easily disturbed by the environment and the surrounding electromagnetic field. At present, it is commonly used to make artificial non on-line temperature measurement by hand held infrared thermal imager or point measuring instrument. When the on-line monitoring is needed, the installation of the probe and the transmission of the temperature signal are also very difficult because the infrared thermometer needs to keep a certain distance from the measured point.

Fiber Prague grating (Fiber Bragg Grating, FBG) is used as a temperature sensing element for fiber Bragg grating temperature sensor. Because of its excellent insulation performance and electromagnetic interference resistance, the sensor can be installed directly on the exposed contact of the switch cabinet.
